Oxymore was founded in 2022 by Jura natives and brothers-in-law Guilhem Henriot and Rémi Thomas, based in Domblans near Château-Chalon. Guilhem trained in Burgundy and worked as a sommelier before apprenticing with leading Jura vigneron François Rousset-Martin. Rémi later joined him, and together they spent several years honing their craft before launching their own label.
Their inaugural vintage was produced as a négociant project, sourcing organic fruit from Jura, Beaujolais, and Alsace. In early 2023, they acquired a total of 2.64 hectares of vineyards across several key Jura villages, planted primarily to Chardonnay, Savagnin, and Poulsard. Organic certification began in 2024, with vineyard management focused on low-intervention practices, incorporating biodynamic and homeopathic methods.
In the cellar, all wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and made with minimal intervention, with little to no sulfur added, aiming to express purity and a true reflection of terroir. The domaine wines are structured, traditional, and deeply expressive, while the négociant cuvées are more experimental, vibrant, and approachable.
